Search for Significance

“Mental health struggles are on the rise as teenagers search to find their identity and self-worth.”

Following Robert S. McGee’s book, “The Search for Significance (SfS) Student Edition,” Breakthrough’s SfS groups invite middle and high school youth to learn about the four common stronghold beliefs that affect identity and self-worth – performance, approval, blame, and shame – and discover God’s corrective solution for each belief. There will be two SfS groups; one for ages 10-13 and one for ages 14-18. Contact Office Manager Alexis Giff for more information.

Cost to be determined.

Grace Based Parenting

Thursdays Feb 8th-March 21st from 6-7pm

During this 7 week group, you will read Paul Tripp’s book titled Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles that can radically change your family. You will be reminded that what parenting looks like from a worldly view is many times not Gospel centered parenting. You will be encouraged in using specific strategies to fulfill your God-given role as parents to be a tool in the forming of a human soul.

Facilitator Krysta Winter is the Clinical Director of Breakthrough Christian Counseling and has over 12 years of experience working with youth and families in counseling. She will provide practical take home strategies to continue to foster the growth in our children and address common parenting challenges. Previous parents who have attended the group say it was a fun experience to learn from Krysta and also get the opportunity to build relationships with other parents. They report the material from Paul Tripp’s book will be instrumental in their parenting.
